“We carry our homes within us which enables us to fly”.
John Cage
can i be more grateful? born and raised in the heart of one of the highest rated best cities to live in , rich in nature, and clean air ,Vancouver, B.C. Canada, with a EU passport and presently living in Florence, Italia with a father who plays the trumpet for me on skype and a mom and grandmother who are still baking bread for me even though i have to imagine the scent! amazing, supportive sisters and a brother whom facebook in sum strange way has allowed us to share conversations we may have never had face to face; cousins who are enjoying their amazing families and friends near and afar whose relationships i hold deep in the treasure box of my heart. presently i am living my childhood dream;
to be a succesful artist and teacher, a writer/poet, singer/songwriter (my first album INSPIRING COUNTLESS PEOPLE IS ON THE WAY!!!!!)
www.myspace.com/freezerdream , dancer and movement/ feldenkrais teacher:
my philosophy is to be…
a lover of life and all possibilities arising from the able bodies minds spirits given to us by blessed creation.
one of the greatest compliments i ever recieved was that i was a limitless spirit. this came from a beloved teacher, Dr. Carl Peters, whose ingenuity, intellect, and genuine humanity, would change the course of my life with his course at SFU on the Avant-garde. I began to read and see art works from minds and spirits such as Marcel Duchamp, Jim Morrison, T.S. Eliot, Gertrude Stein, Antonin Artaud, William Burroughs, Patti Smith, who transcended not only the time they lived in, but the concepts of space, form, reality, life. John Cage, the artist I would eventually write my thesis on, was an artist who would change not only my thoughts, but would penetrate my very being, bringing me from the dark of enslaved thoughts, to the liberation only a man who loved so deeply the very essence of life, people, music and art could truly bring about. For me, the greatest democratic leader of our time; his gentle, yet powerful humor would drive straight to the point,
“I can`t understand why people are frightened of new ideas. I`m frightened of the old ones.”
I would finish my thesis with another brilliant soul, Dr. Jerry Zaslove, who after reading alongside genius Samir the works of Nietzsche, Heidegger, and Beckett, was brought to his class on UTOPIA. From Plato to our modern thinkers, such as Whitehead, and Einstein, I was to learn that indeed the lives we live have been constructed by utopian thinkers, each with their own ideas of the BEST model of life; from rural to city, to paper to electronic to… thats right it keeps going. We all have the responsibility to construct what is BEST for us or else you can be sure there is someone else doing it for you…
i see now how much my teachers have resembled the artists they were teaching. how much was living through them and being passed on to me.
contemplating the poetics and science of process and movement; the fact that ALL OBJECTS consist of moving molecules, atoms, subatomic particles, life is ALWAYS IN MOTION, writing a thesis called ” the metaphysics of praxis” the meta- that which is beyond, praxis- that which we DO - has taken me on the wildest journey of my life; firstly outward, but slowly, gently, and persistenly, inward.
after graduation i got moving and travelled bymself around Europe and returned to the world of theatre, voice and movement of the body through yoga. completed 5 weeks 8 hours a day at the Canada’s National Voice Intensive for actors http://www.voiceintensive.org/under David Smuckler, another group of awe-inspiring teachers, one more talented than the other; a physical theatre diploma at Tooba where director Dean Fogal and gifted voice teachers Olivia Olsen( Vancouver) and Britte Wenske (Germany) would open me into conciousness of my body in ways i am still learning to understand; more and more revealing the mystery of spirit living in body, the language of movement, expression, a song of soul moving through the joys of simply being. no thoughts, no words, just now, here. this now hereness brings me to celebrate nature, people, dance, feldenkrais, cooking, yoga, meditation, relaxation, music and love. this passion for life brings me into higher and higher conciousness – where healing happens at sub-concious levels- where what is deep and true is shining through. is this god? it is the grace of god and i am thankfull.
now back in my beloved italy, a country whose ragged bones and boiling blood i feel in my own body, in the immaculate Tuscan hills, i am training to be a Feldenkrais teacher under Isabella Torino and Ruthy Alon of Israel. What is Feldenkrais? in short, a somatic movement education system designed to improve, expand and refine the use of the self through awareness of our natural movement processes. Feldenkrais is a profound dynamic meditation and portal to the infinite being within.
i am also presently working steps from my house, getting payed really well to teach adorable children english doing theatre for The Global Theatre Project http://theglobaltheatreproject.org/ this is one of my many manifestations; i feel blessed and excited to understand, share, create and REALIZE!
This blog is for me a space where i can receive inspiration and share it with countless people across the world, to inspire them to realize their dreams. from the days i was small and would patiently await my weekly delivery of a new book to my house (thankyou mom), i have had a passion for dreams and the power of communion, one voice to another, to INSPIRE US TO DREAM, HEAL, and CREATE our LIFE in Luv/AMORE! for all i know there is ONE go at Life. there aint a spare tire in the back! i am recieving the gift of my birthright; to fulfill my divine expression of this abundant, infinite, beautiful and friendly universe.
Thankyu! Thankyou! Grazie! Shoukaran! Merci!
for joining me on my journey into the unknown physical, mental and spiritual luv;
and assisting me to create the greatest story called EARTH.

Hi Lisa,
I received your wonderful note, and gifts, thank you. To know that you thought of me while you had these in your hand gives me happy thoughts. Your note was dated Oct 27, I can’t believe it took so long in transit! I’m thrilled for you to hear you made it to Italy, and that was quick, it couldn’t have been too long after we met that you left. In a small way I hope I encouraged you a little bit. If I had another life to live, I would love to do something similar. I sent you a text message, recently, but it makes sense that you didn’t get it since you’re in Italy now. I have thought about you, and re-lived the moments we shared in Vancouver. Such sweet memories. We must have been destined to meet, how we met, the affect you had on me in such a short time. So you are on a farm there? The pictures are amazing. I went to Italy once, seemed like a magical place, especially Florence, why am I not surprised you ended up there. You sound very happy, learning italian, bread, pizza, the landscape, it sounds wonderful. I’ve read some of your blog, and I hope you receive this message and write back. How’s your nonna doing?
Patrick

hi lista,
it’s me, tark!
if you have some time, check for “guided by voices”. they’re an indie lo-fi band of the early 90′s which reminds me a lot of your music style (in the approach) with simple instruments and rough dominant voices.
as album, i would suggest “tonics and twisted chasers”, “bee thousand” and “alien lanes” which are my favourites =)
have fun, hope to see you!
thanks tark! wow really great bands! i luv this style of music and approach! so much fun! hope to see you!
